Has this planned indexing of FAT and optical drives been implemented successfully?
My Everything 1.5.0.1363a x64 Portable shows me neither content of a disc inserted into my Blu-ray burner in the main window nor its detected presence under
Tools > Options > Indexes > FAT
How to include optical disc to overall list of items in the main window?

That topic was the only only one I found when I searched for indexing a CDvoid wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 11:00 am Moved from How to scan & log DVD's or CD's?

If I understood this manual, currently there is no way to just put a disc in a reader and have its content indexed [at least temporarily] by Everything - thus have that disc's content added to other items in the main window?
That help speaks only about Task Scheduler in terms of automation. But:
A] I would have to set a re-scanning something like every 10 seconds [i.e. a period of time which would take for me to physically replace a disc and my reader to start spinning it up]
B] My empirical experience with Task Scheduler is negative thus I stay away from it so that I would not be again frustrated an with a loss of time
So what I am saying is this: could not there be a simple option to tell Everything to monitor optical readers? If not automatically then at least manually tell it to treat some specified volume [with already assigned in system letter to it] as such special volume- thus in need of being monitored for physical presence of disc in it?

I will consider an option to rescan CDRom/DVDRom volumes on media changes.
Thank you for the suggestion.
For now, you can add a CDRom/DVDRom as a folder index and manually rescan from Index -> Rescan -> CDRom/DVDRom.
