When does Everything saves the search history

Of course when it's enabled.

1.When you hit enter?
2.When you execute some file?
3.If the search result is not changed for a certain time?
4.While closing the everything window?

And when a search result is added to View=>Go To feature(I know that this list is deleted when you close the Everything window)

The current search is added to the search history when one of the following occurs:

• Pressing Enter in the search edit.
• Opening a file or folder.
• Cutting a file or folder.
• Copying a file or folder.
• Right clicking on a file or folder.
• Drag dropping a file or folder.
• Copying the path or path and filename of a file or folder to the clipboard.
• Renaming a file or folder.
• Deleting a file or folder.

The search history is saved to disk when you close an Everything search window or when you Exit Everything.

Is there a way to browe the history by date ?

I mean how can i recall the last 10 searches ?

History is listed by date from the View menu, under Goto.

This history is cleared after you close the search window.

Anyway I was looking for a persistent history, some times I know I foThxund a document 2 days ago, don't know where and

want to look at the past searches.

There is a run counting
Tools=>Options=>History=>Run History

If you enable this and start opening files from the search result and if you type then for example
runcount:>0
This will display all of the files you opened from the search result

I will consider the option to list search history results by date.. may be by holding down shift when displaying the list of search history results from the combo box drop down button?

a simpler way: View-> Last searches (order by date of ourse)

It's a very convenient way of finding things you don't remember even the name

I still wish to add something to Everything to sort search history by date, but for now you can open your Search History.csv with Excel and sort by date.

I tried sorting by name but when I start everything after that and click on down arrow to see the list,the list was exactly the same...not sorted by name.Even typing something didn't show sorted by name suggestions.

Notepad++ also have the ability to sort

Currently, Everything will always sort by Search Count.

Opening Search History.csv with Excel will at least let you sort by last search date.
However, if you save the Search History.csv sorted by last search date, Everything will resort by search count when it is loaded.

Sorting search history by last search date in Everything is on my Things to do list.

Only for the local database.

If you open a file list, run history is ignored.

I will consider support for separate run history for file lists or support for a single run history accessed by multiple indexes at the same time.

I will consider it, I would prefer to keep personal information out of efu files.
