We have set up Everything to index networked folders. All users have the same addresses for each networked location.
Can we store the index database in a shared folder and have everyone look to it and then set just one machine to run the rebuild?
Can Everything have multiple users?
Re: Can Everything have multiple users?
Please try running Everything as portable mode:
Completely Exit Everything.
Copy Everything.exe to a shared folder for all users.
Run Everything.exe
From Tools -> Options -> General, make sure "Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything" is disabled.
This will store all of Everythings settings and data in the same location as the Everything.exe
For the users that don't update the indexes, run Everything with the -read-only command line option.
This will prevent those users from saving an out of date database.
Users with this command line option will need to restart Everything in order to see the updated indexes.
