Stop full path blinking?
Stop full path blinking?
Is there any way to stop blinking of the full folder or file path on mouse hover? Its very annoying, and takes a lot more time to figure out the full path and whether it worse to open it to further analyze search results. If there's no way, pls add such option in the ini files, unless the developer insists all users must see this blinking and like it. I prefer keeping Everything window compact on screen, and some file paths are very long, will never fit fully in Path field no matter how big program window is open.
Re: Stop full path blinking?
Do you mean the mouseover popup (on a field that is larger then the displayed field width)?
Other, then that, I've never seen "path blinking"?
Everything.ini has a preference, show_mouseover.
Exit Everything, open the .ini with a text editor, change the value from =1 to =0.
Save the change, run Everything.

Re: Stop full path blinking?
Yes I mean mouseover popup. I'm running Version 1.4.0.713b (x64) in Win 10 64bit. After I changed show_mouseover to 0 in the .ini, it no longer shows full path on mouse over. That's not what I asked for, I just wanted it to stop blinking, but still show the full path. Pls add this option.
Even worst, ones I set it to 0, switching it to 1 doesn't result in showing mouse over popup anymore. I initially used portable version, and once it failed, I installed the same version, and it still doesn't show anything on mouse over regardless of whether I set 0 or 1 in the ini. Now it runs service, and keeps the ini in %Appdata% instead of the program folder, but it doesn't affect this feature.
What can I do to achieve both:
a) show the full path on mouseover?
b) stop its blinking, so that I can read it?

Re: Stop full path blinking?
Options | General -> Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything, uncheck.keeps the ini in %Appdata% instead of the program folder
I've never seen any blink.b) stop its blinking, so that I can read it?
(Closest thing would be an unsteady handy alternately moving over then off the field .)
Re: Stop full path blinking?
I'll capture a video, if lucky to see the full path popup ever again. If it doesn't blink for you, can it be to display resolution related? I use 4K display at its native 4K resolution with 150% text scaling set in Windows 10 Display settings. If not display, can it be a result of any other program trying to block the tooltip popup showing full path, and it reappeared every 0.5 sec? Now it never appears to begin with.
