Tagging Files in disconnected drives for future operations.

Post by Mocqpen »

Hi. I use Everything to search disconnected drives for duplicates and the like.
Currently when I find one, I either copy the path somewhere or more recently, I increase the run count in the file-list (to some ridiculous number like 999) which conveniently translates to the actual files when the drive in connected.
It would be nice if you could tag a few files for future operations, like Delete, Copy etc.
Thank you.

Tag support is in development.

Everything will use the default Windows tag property and fall back to its own tag database.
Setting the tag for offline files with this might be possible.. I'll consider the option to do this.

For now, consider setting the run count to 666 to delete, 777 to copy etc..

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just mentioning this as I don't think it is a very good alternative, but it might fit in your workflow:

Open the File List Editor (Menu:Tools > File List Editor ...) and you can drag your marked files there.
Save the file list afterwards.
