Preview PDFs stopped working

Please can someone offer advice. The preview pane no longer previews PDFs (other extensions are ok) - used to do it fine until recently. Is it somehow using the wrong default program for opening PDFs? Thanks for yr help

You have to install a program which also supports Explorer preview for PDFs.
I use the free SumatraPDF for this. Its Installer has the option to support preview.
What was your PDF program in the past ?

Also: make sure you are running as a regular user:

- enable Everything Service
- disable Run as administrator

Both settings can be found under Menu:Tools > Options > General

I had been running it as administrator, which I now changed, but that makes no difference. My PDF program is PDF X-change viewer, which works fine in Windows Explorer preview and always worked well in "Everything" until a few days ago, it just stopped showing previews

Please try restarting your PC as Everything might still be running as administrator and there might be a PDF preview instance running as admin.

What version of Everything are you using?
