my setup is as follows:
'Everything' 1.4 x64 on a windows server machine with etp service installed (Everything.exe -install-client-service).
i connect to it from other machines via "-connect ...".
this works fine.
now if i'm on the windows server machine and want to use 'Everything' i have to use "-instance Desktop ..." param. this creates a new config and a new *.db. (it throws an error of i just try to start everything.exe without -instance; etp server already running).
is there another/better way to run this? without having 2 seperate everything.db and config files.
ETP service and desktop-search setup question
Re: ETP service and desktop-search setup question
Thank you for your feedback Phobos,
On the server, you would need to connect to the Everything ETP server as you would on a client.
There is no user interface when running Everything as a client service.
Or, copy the portable Everything.exe to another folder and launch that. Unfortunately, this will create a separate Everything.db and config files.
