cannot find cryptomator drive
Hi,
is there anyone here who uses Everything to indexing files on the Cryptomator vault drive?
Currently, I cannot add my vault drive to Everything because of Everything cannot recognize my Z:\ drive
thank you

Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
I'm not familiar with cryptomator, but I guess it uses a virtual filesystem and Everything can't access those.
To check if this is the case:
To check if this is the case:
- Start CMD.exe
- type dir Z:\ and press ENTER

Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
You have to use Everything Folder indexingmakan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 3:59 pm hi...

Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
You are probably running Everything as administrator (some drive settings are per-user instead of per-machine)
Enable Everything Service and disable Run as Administrator.
Both can be found under Menu:Tools > Options > General
Does that make your Z:-drive visible again?

Thanks for letting us know the results!
So, for other people that want to make Everything work with cyptomator:
Is that correct?

Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
Hi. I just wanted to say that I had the exact same problem (exact, down to the same drive letter I mount my Cryptomator files to!) and this was exactly the solution. Thank you both!
Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
I have manually selected the folders I want to have recognized (Use Folder Indexing (Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders )), including the cryptomator vault, but the “instead of NTFS Indexing” part I don't know how to do that.
I have already done the method described by NotNull, but even within the same vault of cryptomator, there are files that are recognized and files that are not, and I do not know how to improve it.

Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
You shouldn't have to do anything.I have manually selected the folders I want to have recognized (Use Folder Indexing (Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders )), including the cryptomator vault, but the “instead of NTFS Indexing” part I don't know how to do that.
To make sure Everything is not trying to NTFS-index your cryptomator vault:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the NTFS tab on the left.
- Uncheck Automatically include new fixed volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically include new removable volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
- Select your cryptomator vault (if listed)
- Uncheck Include in database.
- Click OK.
Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)I have already done the method described by NotNull, but even within the same vault of cryptomator, there are files that are recognized and files that are not, and I do not know how to improve it.
Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.
Please make sure these files are not excluded from Tools -> Options -> Exclude.
Please try a rescan:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Folders tab on the left.
- Select your cryptomator vault
- Click Rescan now.
- Click OK.
Re: cannot find cryptomator drive
Thank you for your prompt and careful advice.
After uninstalling the software once, I configured it as you suggested, and all folders are now successfully displayed in the search results.
Thank you very much .....!
