Hello --

I want updates not to wipe out any options I have set.

My Options > General > "Store settings and data ..." is checked.

Should it be checked or not checked ?

Sorry Everything is resetting your settings.

I'm looking into the lost settings issue.

Can you remember the settings you used during setup?
Did you change the installation folder? -Default is C:\Program Files\Everything
Did you change Settings and data? -Changing this will cause Everything to wipe your settings. -Default is %APPDATA%\Everything

That setting determines where Everything's settings are stored - not whether they are stored.


PS: Can't hurt to backup the various .ini, .csv, .efu (maybe even the .db) files that Everything uses.

Are there perhaps several files from Everything.ini after all?

If so, you can use

about:config <enter>

in the search box to determine which one is currently in use.
