File added to File List but items not showing

Post by YagilH »

Hi,
I added an efu file to the File List but the items in it are not showing.
This used to work.
Thanks,

Very little information to go on, but I will try ...

First of all: Make sure only Everything is enabled under Menu:Search

If that doesn't fix the issue: did you define any exclusions under Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Exclude ?

Thanks, but your suggestions didn't help.
Here is more info:
I exported from Everything on one laptop and transferred the resulting efu file to another.
On the second laptop I added the file to the File Lists.
I added the column File List Filename.
This used to work fine, listing the files in the second computer and also the files from the efu file (with its name showing in the File List Filename column).
Now the files from the efu file are not showing anymore.

Everything may have partially read the filelist.

Please try forcing a rebuild:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
  • Click OK.
Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure these files are not excluded from Tools -> Options -> Exclude.

Here is what solved the problem:

I indexed Everything on the first laptop and then exported again and from transferred the resulting efu file to the second laptop. Then it worked.
Something funny must have happened on the first laptop the first time I exported the file.

Thanks for your help,
