Properties - suggestion about dupe

I do have a suggestion about dupe:

It seems natural to me that when looking for a dupe, one would also sort the results by that column.

Conversely, if I sort on something like CRC-64, a verb like dupesort: would help.

More powerful even yet in the form dupesort:<Property>; e.g. dupesort:CRC-64

It seems natural to me that when looking for a dupe, one would also sort the results by that column.

This is what should be happening with the new Find Property Duplicates feature.

This feature replaces the old dupe: search function (which searches your ENTIRE index).

Are you seeing something else?

For example: Right click your CRC-64 column header and click Find CRC-64 duplicates...

When clicking Find CRC-64 duplicates, Everything will:

• Gather CRC-64 information for all your current results (this may take a few minutes, progress is shown in the status bar)
• Sort by CRC-64
• Remove any results that are not duplicated.
• DUPE is shown in the status bar, double click DUPE to restore all results.

I have added to my TODO list: Add a search function to use the new Find Property Duplicates feature.

Very usefull already! But another suggestion follows (you know me...)

Within the results, another feature would really help:

Exclude (from results list)

Example: when a list of crc duplicates is showing, I would like to delete all files in path(s) xxxx and filenames:abc

hence I would like to

Exclude:"path:xxxx path:def file:abc"

That would allow me to use del (or copy or rename etc.) in a very convenient way!

Unfortunately, Temporary Excludes will not work as this performs a requery, which will lose your find duplicate results.
I've put on my TODO list to not requery when temp-excluding specific files. This would then allow you to right click -> Add to temp excludes.

Changing the sort will preserve your find duplicate results. Consider sorting by path or name.
