Feature request: Please add functions and bookmarks toolbars to the GUI

Currently bookmarks and functions are hidden away in menus.

It would be great if we have a direct one-click access to them from the GUI.

These can be provided as small toolbars, which combines a drop-down list with some additional buttons.
(Just like how filters are provided through a drop-down list.)

There's a filter sidebar (View -> Filters) and a bookmark sidebar/bar is on my TODO list.

Kindly consider adding "functions" toolbar to the TODO list.

Also: there is an "Insert Function" option (in the menu, under Search). Still work in progress, but can be tested.

Give it a keyboard shortcut (menu:Tools > Options > General > Keyboard) for quick access.
