To show a Parent Name column:
  • In Everything 1.5, right click the result list column header and click Add Columns....
  • Search for: parent
  • Select Parent Name and click OK.

Ah, super, many thanks.

Is there a way to open the folder when double clicking the item under "Parent" (instead of opening / starting the file)?

No, you'll need to double click on the text in the path column.

Why does the parent column not appear in the columns (behind the extension column):

You'll need to click Select and add the Parent Name column here too.

Ah, sorry, you already have the Parent Name column added.

Ignore my last post.

If you press Alt + Home does Everything show the correct order?
If you close the window, then reopen the window, is the order correct?
Do you have a filter enabled with custom columns? -filter columns will override your home columns.

Yes, it does. Great! But how can one come up with the idea of having to press this key combination? Does one have to use it again to show the parent column?

Cannot check it anymore, I guess.

No, I do not think so:

You'll only have to do this once if you change the home columns.

The home search is only applied when you press Alt + Home or show a new window.

As long as I have pressed these keys the home filter obviously is shown. When I release them e.g. the Everything filter is active obviously.
or show a new window.
It appears here the last filter is activated when I show a new window.
