When you have the path column in search results and you right click on the path in a row you have the option that displays the file's folder (yellow folder icon)
If the focus is put on this, a submenu pops out, including the option to go up to the parent folders, omit, standard copy/rename/delete etc.
and "Search in Everything". If this option is selected the search results are replaced with a plain generic search of the selected folder.
Two other options would be really useful
1 Open the generic search in a new window, therefore not losing the main search window.
2 Keep the current search but amend it to restrict the results to the selected folder, a sub-search. The opposite to the Omit option
Thoughts?
Version 1.5.0.1352a (x64)
PS: Just discovered that holding down Ctrl when clicking "Search in Everything" will do option 1, opening in new window
Folder paths in Search results
Re: Folder paths in Search results
I will consider an option to do this.2 Keep the current search but amend it to restrict the results to the selected folder, a sub-search. The opposite to the Omit option
Thank you for the suggestion.
For now, please copy the folder and paste it into the search box.
Re: Folder paths in Search results
Copying the path and pasting to search box did not work... Then realized the path had spaces in it, so needed to put double quotes around it.
Re: Folder paths in Search results
Copying the path does copy the path as text without quotes.
Please try copying the folder (the actual folder, not the path)
A pasted folder will be quoted.
Alternatively to copy the path with quotes:

Alternatively to copy the path with quotes:
- In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Results tab on the left.
- Check Double quote copy as path.
- Click OK.

- Right-click the folder
- From the context menu, select Explore in Everything
- Optional: enable/disable searching in subfolders by using the Subfolder checkbox at the bottom of the Folders pane.
The selected folder is shown in the statusbar.

- Close the Folders Pane
- Double-click the foldername in the statusbar
- Select the Everything entry in the Folders pane (make sure Subfolders is checked in that case)
