Find files in subfolders from names in txt list + add suffix to them

Post by temporalnaut »

Hi, I have 1373 file names with extensions in the text file (in individual lines). I need to find files with these names in a specific folder that contains files with these names as well as other files in subfolders. I would need to put these 1373 into Advance Renamer. Or maybe Everything can do it too - I just need to add the same word to the end of their title. Is this possible through Everything?

To search for a list of filenames:
  • In Everything, from the Search menu, click Advanced Search.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and to the right of "Search for a list of file names" click Browse....
  • Select your file list txt file (please make sure you use UTF-8 encoding) and click Open.
  • Click OK.
(the search box may appear empty if the list of filenames is really large, your search will still work)
    ---
  • From there, you can refine your search, select all files and hit F2 to rename multiple files/add your suffix.
