Locking files from being deleted in index

Post by anmac1789 »

Lock a file inside everything search so as to delete all duplicates except the chosen locked file. This would be useful for a large number of files if we could automate a list of a files to be locked somehow.

I will consider a way to mark or lock files.

Thank you for the suggestion.

For now, please consider temporary omit:
  • In Everything, from the Indexs menu, click Enable Result Omissions.
  • Right click a file to "mark" and click Temporarily Omit.
  • The selected file(s) are temporarily excluded from the results until you close your search window.

For now, please consider file lists / file list slots:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click File List Editor.
  • This will show the file list editor.
  • Back in the main Everything search window, drag-drop your files to the file list editor to "mark" the file.
  • Once all your files are "marked", copy all the files from the file list editor (Ctrl + C)
  • Add the following to your search: !filelist1:
  • Hold down Ctrl and click the filelist1: text in the search box.
  • Paste your files (Ctrl + V)
  • Click OK.
  • Everything will now exclude the "marked" files.
