Taking up a previous idea, but with a variation...
There's an overwhelming need to be able to do a folder search in the folder bar.
Currently you have to do this in the normal search bar, which means losing what's in it currently, and also the results will be a mess of files and folders.
The original idea had been to have a folder bar searcher box. You type in it and it filters the folder bar. When you click on a folder in the folder bar (or clear the search box) it reverts back to its full state.
I thought maybe a variation on this idea might be useful.
* Rather than a folder bar search box, you could have a search symbol on the folder bar which you click to get a popup that does the work of choosing a folder. That might be useful as it gives quite a lot of scope for showing a flat list of folders and their full paths, which changes as you type. You click one and it jumps to the folder in the folder bar, or cancel it and no change.

Folder Bar : Search-and-Select Popup
Re: Folder Bar : Search-and-Select Popup
A search in the folder sidebar is on my TODO list.
I will consider a "select folder" button and select folder dialog.
Thank you for the suggestions.
