File lists are great - I use them to index my NAS which stores infrequently accessed files, and is only turned on when required.
A minor quibble is that when the NAS is actually turned on and accessible, when I search for anything there are two entries for every file in the NAS - one from the File List, and one presumably because Everything indexes the NAS when it becomes available. As a feature request, would it be possible to suppress/hide the File List entry for a file if there is an identical entry indexed (file name, file location, size and date modified all exactly the same).
Suppress duplicate entries when using File Lists
Re: Suppress duplicate entries when using File Lists
If you're using File List for the NAS, & if the NAS could also potentially be indexed ("normally") when online, why not just disabling indexing of the drive? Then only the File List will see it.
Options | Indexes -> NTFS
Either uncheck 'Auto include new removable volumes' or disable the particular drive, as appropriate.
