Help with date_format formatting?

I can't actually find anywhere that shows exactly what should be written after :
date_format in everything.ini

date_format=dd.mm.yy doesn't work
nor does ddMMyy

what am I missing?

Please make sure you exit Everything completely before modifying the Everything.ini:
Right click the Everything icon in the system tray and click Exit.

Try the following format:
date_format=dd.MM.yy

ddMMyy will work too.
