An index of all your local NTFS volumes is created automatically when you run Everything for the first time.
Indexing can take a few seconds.
Once the indexing is complete, all your files and folders will be displayed.
Type a partial filename in the search box at the top to instantly find matching files and folders.
The Everything search window contains the following parts:
Menu
The menu contains commands for managing windows, results, view preferences, search parameters, index, history, bookmarks, tools, and help.
Search box
Type a partial filename to instantly locate files and folders.

Result list header
Click a column header to sort results by that column.
Click again to reverse sort direction.
Right-click column headers to show or hide specific columns.
Result list
Use the left mouse button to select items.
Double-click or press Enter to open an item.
Right-click selected items to see more actions.
Items can also be dragged and dropped into other applications.

Status bar
Active search options are shown on the right side of the status bar.
Double-click a search option to disable it.
For example, when Match Case is enabled, CASE is shown in the status bar.
Double-click CASE to disable Match Case.
Showing search windows and tabs
To open the search window, use any of the following methods:
Clear the search box to show all files and folders.
Click the Date Modified column header until the newest changes are shown first.
To instantly find large files:
Click the Size column header until the largest files are shown first.
Open frequently run files easily
Everything tracks how often you open items directly from its search results, making your favorite files easier to find.
Open an item a few times to build up its run count.
While in the search box, press Enter to select the result with the highest run count.
Press Enter again to open the selected item.
Filters restrict searches to specific file types (such as Audio or Video).
Filters can be activated from the Search menu.
The active filter is shown in the status bar on the right.
To toggle the filter bar:
In Everything, from the View menu, click Filter bar.
Everything can undo recent file operations made directly in the result list, such as renaming, moving, or deleting files.
To undo your last action:
In Everything, from the Edit menu, click Undo. (Ctrl+Z)
To view a full list of your recent actions, from the Edit menu, click Undo History.
The undo history allows you to undo multiple actions at once, or undo any specific action.
